Volunteering

The Cahuita Research Center for Climate Change and Migration Studies is only getting started and we need all kinds of help.  At the moment, there are two main ways you can volunteer with us:

AT THE CENTER – Perfect for a student of Spanish with a long-term commitment, as you get to practice non-stop.  Only for stays of a month or more. It will costs you $300 dollars per month.  You have to cover your own food but we have cooking facilities. The Center needs different kind of help during the year (gardening, carpentry, cleaning, teaching, cooking, researching, etc, etc…).  The best time for you to volunteer at the Center, therefore, will depend on the combination of your time for it and the skills you can provide.

FROM YOUR HOMETOWN – Become our representative at home and organize a group of at least 5 students of Spanish (without counting you!) to come with you to Costa Rica and participate in our Spanish Immersion Programs.  We will exchange your efforts at home for your accommodation at the Center, so you will not have to pay for it.
